The British Weather
Oh great! I say, It's hot today
I can sunbathe, the kids can play.
But by the time we're all out of bed
A big black cloud is overhead.
So we stay indoors, get out the games
"The sun's back out" my son exclaims.
Swimsuits on, sunscreen as well
Sun lounger - oh this is swell.
An hour or so sun worshipping
and in the pool - kids paddling.
Let's have a picnic my son implores
Get some lunch to eat out of doors.
A sunny patch of grass with a blanket laid on top
We spread out sandwiches, buns and fizzy pop.
The wind starts blowing, now it's cold
"Sweaters on". The kids are told.
And then the rain, oh boy it's pouring,
Back indoors we go - it's getting boring.
Come on kids, we won't be beaten
Get the picnic, we still haven't eaten.
The blanket is now on the living room floor
With all the food just as before.
We eat our lunch, play games, have fun.
Then we look outside and there's the sun!
But we don't care, no not a bit.
It's the British Weather and we're used to it!
